My knitting student (Hi Nicole!) is coming along nicely. Remember how I said I was teaching a friend to knit? Yeah. It worked! I hadn't had a chance to see her knitting since the first day we got together, so on Sunday when she showed me how far she'd gotten I was thrilled! It looks lovely and after all the horror stories she'd been feeding me for the past week or two, I was prepared to see a sad, bedraggled little two inches of knitting with dropped stitches and tension issues galore. But no! It is a nice compact little scarf-to-be and I couldn't be prouder. I helped her pick out the yarn, which is Blue Sky Alpacas organic cotton, if I remember correctly, and I may have to buy some for myself now, it's so luscious and soft!
I'll have her doing lace shawls and cabled sweaters in no time... (Ha!)
It looks lovely. I want someone to teach me to knit so I can make cute stuff for me and my kids.
