Regardless of who you supported in the election, today is an historical moment! I am cautiously optimistic, as is my way. It's a new beginning!
I am also soliciting cabbage recipes. (How's that for a change of topic? Subtlety is my middle name.) We received an enormous head of cabbage in our Greenling box last week and I'm trying to locate every cabbage recipe I can find. I have a bunch of them bookmarked, but seriously. We have so much cabbage. I'm not sure we'll ever be able to eat it all. (Also, M doesn't like ground meat so those stuffed cabbage roll things and anything like them are out.) Hit me with your best cabbage recipe!
And back to the inauguration. (Sort of.) In honor of it, I'm selling this lovely skein of yarn for half price today. It's blue! It's red! It's festively patriotic! Hip hip hooray!
Tell your friends.
Happy Inauguration! I don't have any great cabbage recipes...but I'm looking forward to learning of some if you come across any yummy ones.

Here's my mother-in-law's cabbage salads recipe. The dressing isn't exactly a healthful or delicate recipe, but it works well with the cabbage. I'd say to use the dressing recipe as a base for your own (ie, not use a full cup of sugar!)
Hope you enjoy it!
LaVonne's Chinese Cabbage Salads
1 package of Top Ramen (crushed in package)
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees
1/2 cabbage, chopped
1/2 bunch of green onions, chopped
dressing:
1 cup olive oil
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
2 tsp soy sauce
Wash and cut up cabbage. Mix together all ingredients. Pour on chilled dressing and toss well.

Thanks! Despite having made THREE recipes with cabbage so far, we've still got a boatload left!
