I haven't exactly been the swiftest of bloggers lately...OK, maybe I never have been. But anyway, I was sent two sweet little cookbooks for review a few months ago and I've never reviewed them! Largely because I have only glanced through them and haven't made any recipes. I've got Crazy for Cake Pops and Mini Pies. Both are adorable - small cookbooks with lots of photos and explanations. The recipes look tasty and fun and my only problem is that I need to accept that I am not in a place right now in my life where I'm going to make tiny pies or cake pops with any regularity. *sigh* If only I could...
I used the tiny pie idea to make some tiny strawberry rhubarb pies for Thanksgiving - I made my own pie crust, cut little pieces and molded them into muffin tins. Then I added my strawberry rhubarb pie filling that I canned earlier in the year, folded some crust over the top and voila! Delicious tiny pies! But that was the last time I've done it and I can't see the opportunity arising any time in the near future, what with a toddler underfoot and other things keeping me busy.
And cake pops would be so cute for a birthday party or something, but let's face it. I am busy. I am tired. I'll be lucky if I can throw together one large cake for E's upcoming second birthday.
So, much as I like to think I am someone who has the time and energy to make these delectable little treats, I'm not. I used to be - and I probably will be again - but for now...nope.
Which is lucky for you, because I'm sure some of you are! And now you can have these lovely little cookbooks, because I'm going to send them off to one lucky reader! Leave me a comment here telling me what your favorite kind of cake or pie is (link if possible!) and I'll pick someone at random on Thursday, Feb. 9.
I loove Cakepops! my favorite kind of cake is chocolate with cream cheese icing and raspberry filling...Mmm!

I'd be a fool to pass this up, so count me in! I'm a cheesecake man myself, and will almost always prefer cheesecake to the flour alternative. Specifically, I go for a dark chocolate/peanut butter marbled cheesecake. Healthy, I know.

Chocolate pie is THE BEST! Mini pies are awesome becasue they are too small to contain any calories. Right?????? :-)
